From 30 April to 12 May, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Paderborn University, in cooperation with the ADA Service Centre for Anti-Discrimination Work of the Caritas Association Paderborn e.V., is presenting the exhibition "Vitreous Flakes. About things we don't see". As part of the International Weeks against Racism, the works focus on experiences of everyday racism.

On Monday, 13 May, Prof. Dr Lothar van Laak will speak about enlightenment as work on stereotypes in Lessing's "The Jews" and "Nathan the Wise".

The series of events will kick off on Tuesday, 14 May, from 4 to 6 p.m. in room Q1.203 with a lecture by Rabbi Alexander Kovtun on the "Tension between Narrative and Law in the Pentateuch".

The Belgium Centre (BELZ) at Paderborn University is celebrating its eighth Belgium Day on Wednesday, 15 May with discussion panels, a museum case competition, a raffle and a concert in Paderborn Cathedral.

The lecture, which will take place from 4 to 6 pm in room L 1. 202, deals with the relationship between man and machine in the silent film ‘The Chess Player’ by Raymond Bernard from 1927.

The lecture series opens on Wednesday with Prof. Dr Benedikt Schmidt from the Humboldt University of Berlin, who will speak on "Digitalisation and theological ethics as sym- or antibiotics for a good life"

On Wednesday, 15 May, Prof. Dr. Christian Kleinschmidt from the Philipps University of Marburg will give a lecture on "Medialisation - Professionalisation - Commercialisation. Adidas and German professional football 1954-2000".

On Thursday, 16 May, Dr Alexander Dübbert, research assistant in German and general linguistics at the University of Paderborn, will give a lecture on the topic "'Fridays/Parents/Omas/... for Future'. Analysing constructions of sustainability from a linguistic perspective"
